Google API Data Access and Usage

Our After Effects extension integrates with Google APIs to provide enhanced functionality. Here’s how we handle your Google data:

Data Accessed

Our application requests access to the following Google API scopes:

• Google Drive File API - To access specific files you grant permission to
• Google Sheets API - To read and write data in your selected Google Sheets
• User Email - To display which Google account you’re connected with
• Drive App Data - To store application preferences in your private app data folder

Data Usage

Your Google data is used exclusively to provide the core functionality of our After Effects extension:

• Email Display: Your email address is shown in the interface so you know which Google account you’re connected with
• File Selection: We display your Google Sheets and worksheets that you’ve granted access to via the Google file picker
• Data Reading: We read selected Google Sheets data to import it into your After Effects project
• Status Updates: We write to selected Google Sheets only to update the render-status of assets you’re currently rendering
• User Preferences: We store information about previously accessed sheets in your Drive’s app data folder to enhance user experience and avoid re-selection

Data Sharing

Your Google user data is never shared with third parties, including us (Max Grünwald). The application runs entirely locally on your machine with direct API connections to Google. No data passes through our servers or backend systems.

Data Storage & Protection

OAuth authentication tokens are stored locally on your machine using industry-standard security practices:

• Tokens are encrypted locally
• No authentication data is transmitted to external servers

Data Retention & Deletion

Since no user data is stored or retained by us on any servers, there is no centralized data deletion process required. All your data remains under your control:

• You can revoke access permissions at any time through your Google Account permissions page
• All data processing occurs locally on your device and can be removed by you at any time
